Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) ordinance for unincorporated communities approved by Tillamook County’s Board of Commissioners during January 31st hearing.
After a detailed explanation of the proposed ordinance and responses to questions from Commissioners and members of the public, the Board of Commissioners voted to approve ordinance Section 5.110 to allow addition of ADUs in the unincorporated communities of Neahkahnie, Mohler, Barview/Twin Rocks/Watseco, Oceanside, Netarts, Siskeyville, Beaver, Hebo, Cloverdale, Pacific City/Woods and Neskowin.
Construction of ADUs, exclusively for long-term residency under this ordinance, will help to improve housing affordability and diversify local housing stock. This is one of many solutions to increase workforce housing in Tillamook County. The public is encouraged to follow Housing Commission discussions and updates, where more detailed information about ADUs in Tillamook County will be shared. Meetings can be attended both in-person and online.
