This morning, January 17, 2024 residents of Wheeler received notice of a water issue, primarily south Wheeler.
This morning Public Works identified a faulty water main on Hall and 3rd Street that has caused the Jarvis Water Reservoir to fully drain. This affects the upper zone of our water distribution system, including 3rd Street and most of the properties uphill from there.
Emergency utility locates have been called in, and a contractor is on standby to make the necessary repairs this afternoon.
Once water service is restored, there will be a boil water notice for 24-48 hours due to the loss in pressure in this upper zone. We are in contact with the County Health Department and more information will follow.
