The poet Rumi once shared- “Do not worry that your life is turning upside down. How do you know the side you are used to is better than the one to come?”
Hang on to your hats Earthlings, as this Full Moon is volatile and unpredictable. It feels like we are on a roller coaster, up one minute and upside-down the next. This Full Moon is going to test our adrenals and so prepare to take shelter in nourishing activities.
The Full Moon is in Leo, the warm and charismatic sign that is ruled by our life giving Sun. Leo is known for its frisky, youthful energy that pounces playfully on life. However, it can sometimes get overly boisterous and self-centered when stressed.
The Moon is directly opposed the Sun in Aquarius, the sign of the intellectual observer and the responsible adult. Aquarius work hard to make all the right moves and take care of the people that can’t take care of themselves. But somewhere along the line, they can find themselves disconnected and isolated.
The tension that exists between these two signs is playing itself out in our culture right now. If we focus purely on our personal needs (Leo) we lose community and connection. If we focus only on what is right for the good of all, then we also lose that. Somewhere in between the two, is the balance.
The balance between the permissive and the strict.
The balance between happy go lucky and ultra-responsible.
The balance between the us and them.
This Full Moon is in a tense aspect with Uranus, the planet of unexpected change. We certainly can all feel that! The air is crackling with instability and the unexpected. This energy is uncomfortable and challenging, particularly outside our personal sphere of influence.
The trick with this kind of disruptive energy is to return to yours. (Leo) Take a big breath and center.
Mercury, the planet of thought and communication, is conjunct the Sun and it offers protection from the storm during this Moon. With it being in Aquarius, it invites us to look at our thoughts as the witness and decide if our thoughts are bringing us peace or suffering.
As the great philosopher Eckhart Tolle said “The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but the thought about it. Be aware of the thoughts you are thinking. Separate them from the situation, which is always neutral till you give it meaning.”
So my dear Earthlings, take very good care of yourselves. Keep an open mind and weed out the destructive and judgmental thoughts.
Tune out of the media and tune into present time.
As a friend of mine says “Be where your feet are.”
