The Sun has appeared to stopped. The dark time of year reaches its apex and we settle in to the soft underbelly of winter.
This year Winter’s Solstice is on 21st of December when the Sun crosses from the jubilant and busy sign of Sagittarius, into the cautious and capable sign of Capricorn. We can feel the busyness of December slowing down and calling us to the within.
During Winter’s Solstice, the Sun will appear to stay in the same place on the Southern horizon for 3 days. It doesn’t really stand still but it is moving reeeaaalllly slow to start marching North. Winter’s Solstice pulls us into its cozy embrace to light the candles and sip tea while doing inside things.
Now is a good time to relax and rest. In the Northern hemisphere it is the natural thing to do.
Take stock, plan for the coming spring/summer but taking high action is not in the stars. There are still 3 planets retrograde, Uranus until January 30th, Mars till February 23rd and Jupiter till February 4th . There are so many cycles that will be coming to a close in 2025 so take time to integrate 2024.
In 2025 we are going to have most of our slower moving outer planets changing signs, and this is a big deal! Pluto already moved into Aquarius for 20 years on November 19th, then Neptune will move into Aries on March 30th for the first time since 1874. It takes Neptune 165 years to go around the Sun so this is going to be very interesting!
Next, Saturn will not be left behind and moves into Aries with Neptune on May 24th. The Jupiter sails into Cancer on June 9th for a year and last but not least Uranus moves into Gemini July 7th for 7 years.
As you can see there are going to be many endings and consequently, new beginnings in 2025. I will be writing more on all of the above as they approach.
Meanwhile, please take the time to care for yourself and be gentle with the end of the year. We really do not know what 2025 holds in its palm for us. The best way to approach this coming year is with love, curiosity and an open mind.
This post is dedicated to my Web Goddess and friend who created my beautiful websites, Dawn Shears. She left us and danced over the rainbow on December 10th very unexpectedly. I’m still in shock and saddened of the loss of a friend too soon. Fly free Blue Butterfly!
