The City of Bay City has been awarded grant funding by Oregon Parks & Recreation Department to develop a park master plan for Al Griffin Memorial Park. Over the next several months, the City will be gathering community feedback and developing design alternatives for the park, located on the corner of 4th and Trade Streets in Bay City. The current park consists of a skate park, tennis courts, children’s playground, covered picnic area and a campground with four RV sites and eight tent sites. The park is the location of the annual Pearl and Music Festival each summer.
Currently, the city is identifying community needs, assessing current park conditions/uses and gathering ideas for new park features.
Community members can get involved by completing an online survey. Some of the survey questions include:
- How do you typically get to the park?
- How do you currently use the park?
- What hazards/concerns are present?
- Rank the importance of potential amenities
