The President has declared a National Emergency as the nation gears up to fight the coronavirus pandemic. This will impact our community both economically and medically.
Let’s be proactive on this issue. Maintaining social distance is one of the best things you can do. Most gatherings in our area have been cancelled; but get out of your house each day, take a walk or go for a drive. Buy your supplies locally, buy take out food and eat it at home. Remember local merchants are hurting too and need our support.
Maintain social contact with your friends and neighbors. Call, email or text them every day. Reach out and help each other.
Our City staff, police department, fire department, emergency volunteer corps, clinics and hospitals are all connected working on this problem. We will be here for you.
This is not the first crisis we have seen in our lives. Challenges in life are inevitable. There are no heroes here, just ordinary citizens doing heroic things. This may get worse before it gets better, but I am a firm believer we will come through this together.
