The City of Rockaway Beach runs two Community Grant program – a small and a large – to provide support to non-profit, not-for-profit organizations, and community entities that serve the Rockaway Beach community. The small grant program is now closed. The large grant program deadline is April 3, 2025.
What types of projects are eligible?
Grant funds are available to support organizations and entities which provide:
- Assistance for essential utilities, food, medical or mental health needs, clothing, or shelter.
- Educational, cultural, social, physical, or recreational opportunities for residents.
- Positive volunteerism that enhances city aesthetics, benefits the environment, promotes positive community engagement, or support city initiatives or projects.
How much funding is available?
Applicants may seek up to $4,999.99 from the Small Grant program (now closed) and between $5,000-$20,000 from the Large Grant program.
If awarded, how and when will I receive the grant funds?
Grant funds will be issued within two weeks of contract execution via check.
Can my organization apply for both the Small and Large Grant?
Yes, your organization may apply for both grant programs, as the funds are for separate projects.
How can I create a strong application?
Projects that make the largest impact for Rockaway Beach residents, that fill an existing need that would not be met without grant funding, or that bring the community together and create positive community engagement will be prioritized for funding.
Is there City staff available to discuss my project or review my application?
Yes, our Grant Manager is available to discuss projects and answer questions. The City of Rockaway Beach staff will provide guidance on applications if presented a minimum of 14 calendar days prior to the grant application deadline.
