The Rockaway Beach City Hall was scheduled to hold a FEMA Biological Opinion (BiOp) Informational Session facilitated by Tillamook County Community Development Director, Sarah Absher, to address new FEMA regulations for development in the Special Flood Hazard Area(commonly known as the “floodplain”).
Sarah Absher, Tillamook County Communty Development Direcotr, was granted an unexpected and rare opportunity to fly to Colorado to meet with FEMA Administration on Monday (October 28th) regarding the implementation of the Oregon Biological Opinion. This a a tremendous opportunity for Tillamook County to voice concerns about the impacts of implementation shared by many across Oregon. As a result, the Rockaway Beach Informational Session scheduled for October 28th is postponed until further notice.
