Yes – we did get to the south county tree lighting, too; just an editor that’s been busy … so how about some holiday joy between all the flood warnings? Here you go …

Christmas season is one of my favorite times of the year. Hot chocolate, cookies and fudge, and community events such as the Christmas Tree Lighting in Cloverdale last Friday night.
Students and staff from Nestucca HS performed for the group of people who ventured out into a damp evening. Santa arrived in a fire truck for the numerous kids. The cutest event of the evening was the little girl, not long out of the toddler stage, who was learning to jump. At first she didn’t leave the ground, but by the end she was leaping a good two inches into the air.
These small town community events are fun. If you haven’t been to one yet, give them a try.
