Charles “Chuck” Lee McLaughlin – June 8, 1928 to February 14, 2025
A well-known figure in our community, Charles “Chuck” McLaughlin passed away on Valentine’s Day February 14, 2025. A very appropriate day for a man that did everything from his heart and with unabashed passion to leave this earthly plane. Chuck’s passing is being honored throughout the community, and of course he’s known as the webmaster for the North Coast BBQ. The BBQ ironically experienced some “technical difficulties” beginning February 13th and will be back online soon. We are taking the timing as a final message from Chuck to reach and make personal connections to take good care, and to be aware of how we communicate with each other.
The family will provide an obituary soon and a celebration of life will be held in the Spring.
Here’s an image and message from Chuck’s son, David: This image speaks so much to me of his character…His intention, creativity, craftsmanship, thoughtfulness, attentiveness, and passion for whatever he chose to focus on. Always the curious mind, and always willing to share his knowledge and wisdom with others. I’m forever grateful to him for sparking the creativity that lives inside of me. I love you forever Pop…
We are all forever grateful to him for sharing his love and wisdom with all who crossed his path. The Pioneer has been blessed with publishing many of Chuck’s writings and several video interviews as well over the last few years. We treasure each word and moment, knowing that Chuck will live on in the Pioneer’s archives. Search on our YouTube channel for “Chuck McLaughlin” or on the Pioneer website.
The North Coast BBQ will also continue, the irony is that the email server issue just coincidentally happened at the same time as Chuck was making his transition. We think that he wanted us to focus on connecting with each other and personal communications. The BBQ is back, and hopefully, the post summary will resume soon.
