If you live in PUD Subdivision #1 (South County) or PUD Subdivision #3 (Tillamook and Cape Meares) you will be voting on for a PUD Board members to represent you. We have done research on the candidates and offer the following information. (Material drawn from election filing documents, PUD website, questionnaire in Tillamook Pioneer, Facebook search and comments gathered from various progressive contacts).

Subdivision #1 (South County from Sandlake to Neskowin)
Tamra Perman (Incumbent)
Perman lives in Cloverdale and was appointed to serve on the Board beginning January 1, 2024, She previously worked for Frito Lay North America and with the Tillamook County Creamery Association. Currently, Perman and her husband Todd own and operate JAndy Oyster Co. She serves on the Tillamook Bay Community College Board of Directors. Her grade completed was BS from West Texas A&M in chemistry/biology. Friends with Justin Aufdermauer. Registered R. Did not respond to Pioneer questions.
Maile Samek
Samek lives in Cloverdale. She is a school counselor for Tillamook School District and previously was an office manager for a property management company. She graduated from Liberty University with a Masters in counseling. She previously served on the Cloverdale Water Board. Registered I. Responded to Pioneer – no red flags.
Subdivision #3 (City of Tillamook and Cape Meares)
Justin Aufdermauer
Aufdermauer is the executive director of the Tillamook Chamber of Commerce. He serves on the Tillamook School Board where he initiated the recent ban of a book from the curriculum and triggered a complaint by the union. His last grade completed was grade 12. He can serve on both the School Board and PUD because they are unpaid positions. Registered N. Did not respond to the Tillamook Pioneer.
Lonnie Jenck
Jenck is a bookkeeper for Jenck Farms and owner of The Cottage and Farmgirls store. Her last grade completed was grade 12. She previously served on the West Hills Water District and the Tone Water District. Registered R. Responded to some Tillamook Pioneer – no red flags but didn’t respond to all questions about banning books. She was chair of the Tillamook Urban Renewal District and it is reported that she ran meetings well and was fair.
Harry Hewitt (Incumbent)
Hewitt is Principal at the Pacific Christian School. He retired from teaching government and economics at Tillamook High School. His last grade completed was a Masters in Political Science. Served on the PUD Board since 1998. Registered R. Responded to Tillamook Pioneer with some major red flags —- climate change denier and squishy on book bans.
