Anywhere you find meaningful and positive change in Tillamook County, you will find smart, capable, and dynamic women.
Recently, I had the privilege to meet one of these women from TBCC, shake her hand, talk with her about the race, and about what we as non-affiliated voters have long been frustratingly experiencing in our current political environment. The one most in common thing we have with one another is enough for me to want to talk more about her and why I and many others are so impressed and excited with her candidacy.
She is the only female candidate in the Zone 7 race for the Neah-Kah-Nie School Board Race, and the only non-affiliated female candidate in the race, unlike so many of the other races for school board seats in the county. She’s the recently elected 2023-2024 president of the Tillamook chapter of the AAUW (American Association of University Women), the Executive Director of Advancement and TBCC Foundation, the past President of Food Roots, member of the Neahkahnie Budget Committee for two years, served as the interim Head of School for the Neskowin Valley School System, Mudd Nick Foundation Volunteer, raising funds for NKN school students, has lived in the NKN School district for 19 years, volunteered for the NKN school district for 13 years, mother of two daughters, one at Tillamook High, the other in the Neah-Kah-Nie Middle School, and is the reason why every other candidate in the Zone 7 race for the Neah-Kah-Nie School Board District #56 should throw in the towel like me.
The more I find out about her, the more impressed I become. Unlike a local political action committee of retired teachers that failed to recognize her, I did my homework (pun intended), due diligence, and rightfully give her the recognition she deserves. She’s by far THE best candidate in the race for Zone 7 and the reason I’m stepping aside and have stopped campaigning. Here are links to her websites:

Go explore for yourself, and join me in voting for, spreading the word, and supporting Heidi Luquette as the candidate most worthy of the position.
I also endorse these candidates for the Tillamook School Board:
I also want to take this unique opportunity I have to endorse two other women I have come to know professionally, on occasion personally, and for whom I endorse in the races they are participating. I’m not going to steal their thunder though, because they, like Heidi and so many other women in the school board races and other races, are perfectly capable of speaking for and advocating for themselves. Clinical Social Workers are stepping up in local races, I am proud to be among them, and these two strong women exemplify what It means to be in the public service of others and I applaud them for daring greatly.
Dr. Danell Boggs, running for Tillamook School Board Position 1, she is the Behavioral Health Clinician Manager at the Tillamook County Health Clinic, and recently earned her Doctorate of Behavioral Health Clinical Behavioral Medicine & Integrated Behavioral Health at Arizona State University in Tempe, I am sharing her fb election campaign page link: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100090988184634&mibextid=LQQJ4d
The other candidate is Samantha Spratt, CSWA, running for Tillamook School Board Position 5, she is from Tillamook, born and raised, former Tillamook Police Officer, earned her MSW from the University of Alabama, go Crimson Tide!, Clinical Social Worker for Adventist Health Hospice Program, and is currently working on her LCSW. I had the privilege to Supervise her last year and this year and get to know her, her fb campaign page is Elect Samantha Spratt for Tillamook School Board, Position 5:
