My name is Vernie Love and as her friend and a former resident of Tillamook County, I endorse Mary Faith Bell for Tillamook County Commissioner. Mary Faith’s qualifications are extensive and she is an exemplary human being. Quite simply, I know her to be the best person to have working for you and your community.
I have known Mary Faith for over 35 years, 13 of which she has resided in Tillamook County. She is currently a resident of Nehalem.
Mary Faith is a person of integrity through and through. I am honored to call her my friend. I have always been impressed by her honesty, kindness and genuine concern for her community. She is true leader. She is a great listener and a creative problem solver. She is skilled at engaging people and building working relationships. Her gentle, but effective determination always gets things done.
As a young adult, she put herself through Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon. She is also a graduate of the Ford Institute Rural Community Leadership program.
Her interest in serving her community has brought her to her current position as Director of Communications and Marketing for the Tillamook Regional Medical Center.
Prior to that, she was the Editor and General Manager of the Headlight Herald, also in Tillamook.
Her volunteer service positions include:
Tillamook Bay Community College Board of Education
Tillamook Area Chamber of Commerce Board, President
Tillamook County Tourism Advisory Committee
Her goals for the Tillamook County include:
Addressing issues regarding housing in Tillamook County
Making the emergency preparedness model developed in North County, over the past 10 years, available to every coastal community in Tillamook County
Focusing on long term planning and industrial promotion
Her endorsements include her former opponents for Tillamook County Commissioner, Walt Porter, David McCall, Kari Mattson Fleisher and Aaron Palter.
The role of County Commissioner is all about relationships. She has the skills and the character necessary to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people to build consensus and effect change.
I honestly believe Tillamook County voters will be glad to have her working for them in the capacity of County Commissioner.
Sincerely,
Vernie Love
