Join us Saturday September 9th at the Tillamook library at 1 pm for this heartwarming, hilarious and informative documentary about caregiving. Lexie Fields, best known to locals as the manager at The Schooner Restaurant in Netarts, also wore the hat of caregiver for several years along with her sister, Kitty Norris, as they took on the task of caring for their mother with dementia. The Pioneer previewed the documentary and interviewed Lexie and Kitty about the caregiving experience, how the making of the film came about, and how they are now sharing it with the world. See the link to the article and podcast below.
One in four people (25% of the U.S. population) is providing care to a family member or friend, most are unpaid and doing it alone. Wine, Women & Dementia shares multiple stories, and provides insight into how we can as a community support these caregivers and give our elders a quality of life they deserve, to be able to age in place.
