Waterball Fight & Fireworks by Don Backman
Pioneer photographer Don Backman had another assisgnment Saturday morning July 21st, so John Garcia stepped in to provide photos of the Garibaldi Day Parade.
Garibaldi Days 2023. Best seat in the house for the fireworks Saturday July 22nd. Actually, any place was the best seat in the house.
The wind was blowing the smoke away which is important in photographing fireworks. The issue is the smoke lights up and messes with the exposure. It can also hide parts of the bursts.
This is part of the grand finale which can be difficult to capture in a photograph. There was so much stuff going off that it lit up the sky so that it was too bright for the sensor. You can see several explosions creating white dots in the sky where everything was blown out.
The water was mirror-like which made an awesome reflection of the bursts.
