Weather
So, we had been watching a low pressure area that was expected to move in more towards Astoria that would bring the bulk of snow from about Tillamook northward. Instead, the low tracked down the coast and moved in just south of Lincoln City. This pushed the snow a little further south. Tillamook still saw everything from a dusting at the beaches to 4-6” in the passes and even more in the higher elevations of the Coast Range. As the low moved inland, the shower activity quickly diminished this afternoon as high pressure started to build in.
So, tonight we see mostly clear skies with light easterly winds, this allows for some significant radiational cooling, pushing the lows down near 27. This would give us some patchy black ice on the roads overnight so drive carefully.
Tomorrow looks mostly sunny with light winds, thanks to the ridge, the high near 48. The models show another low pressure area developing offshore tomorrow night that should be far enough out to not impact us but will still mention mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of rain starting in the early morning hours, the overnight lows near 33, the snow level lowers to near 1000’.
Thursday we stay mostly cloudy with our rain chance increasing to around 30%, the snow level climbing to 2000’ by the afternoon with southerly winds 5-10, highs near 49. The chance of rain decreases some overnight, lows near 34.
Friday, it looks like we have a weak ridge of high pressure building off to the west giving us a northwesterly flow so any remaining light patchy rain diminishes that morning and we see mostly sunny skies, the highs near 53, mostly cloudy that night, lows near 35.
As for the weekend, Saturday looks mostly cloudy with the high near 50 then mostly cloudy that night with a slight chance of showers under that northwesterly flow still, lows near 38. Sunday, we see another approaching system that brings an increasing chance of rain with rain likely Sunday night into Monday, highs near 49, lows near 40.
