The area saw some dense fog this morning with the visibility falling below a quarter of a mile in many spots, from the coast into the valley, as a high pressure ridge started to build in over the area. We did continue to see some light rain falling this morning however, riding over the top of the ridge, mainly in the far northern part of the county on into Clatsop County. It looks like this last system gave us around ¾” of rain though the Coast Range saw a little over 1”. With improving conditions throughout the day though, tonight we see partly cloudy skies with light winds, the lows around 49.
Tomorrow and Thursday look nice with sunny skies returning, the winds becoming northwesterly 4-8, and highs near 71, with partly cloudy nights, lows still around 50.
On Friday the ridge starts to get pushed eastward some, ahead of a trough of low pressure dropping down towards the area. So we see mostly sunny skies with the high around 69, then more clouds moving in Friday night, a chance of rain after midnight, lows near 52.
Saturday and Sunday look mostly cloudy to cloudy with a chance of rain, highs near 62 Saturday but only 59 on Sunday, the lows near 50 Saturday, dropping to near 46 Sunday. And Monday, well, more rain likely with the high only making it to around 56.
The long range models are suggesting we stay wet through at least midweek.
