The high pressure ridge continues to dominate our weather and again helped to give us a foggy start this morning. Though it was patchy along the coast, it was much denser over in the valley where the visibilities were ¼ mile or less in many areas. This would explain the Dense Fog Advisory that was in place until around 10am this morning. So, once the fog cleared, the Pacific Northwest, including the Tillamook area, saw sunny skies return with highs in the low 70s. Tonight, we will enjoy partly cloudy skies, the winds diminishing, lows near 50.
Tomorrow should also be nice with mostly sunny skies, the winds becoming northwesterly 4-8, highs near 70 again. Tomorrow night we can expect partly cloudy skies again, light winds, and lows near 51.
Friday the ridge of high pressure starts to weaken, and gets nudged eastward, ahead of an upper level trough of low pressure dropping down from the northwest so, though we see mostly sunny skies with light northerly winds, the high top out at around 68. Then more clouds start to push in ahead of that trough, still the light winds, add a slight chance of rain after midnight, lows near 52.
Then, the weekend looks cloudy with a chance of rain thanks to that trough, and cooler, down to 64 Saturday and 62 on Sunday, the lows dropping to around 50 both nights.
It looks like the trough will strengthen across the area by Monday, which would continue the rain threat, and also cool things down even more with highs Monday only around 60, with Tuesday down near 57. The temperatures at night are also lower, falling into the mid to low 40s.
