An upper level trough of low pressure and its associated cold front brought in some rain today and will also pull in some cooler temperatures. It looks like the parent low pressure area will drop down behind the front to give us a chance of showers with possible thunderstorms later tonight, the winds westerly 5-10 becoming more southerly and decreasing after midnight. Lows near 42.
The chance of showers and thunderstorms remains tomorrow, winds becoming westerly 4-8, highs near 52, the thunderstorm threat ends tomorrow night, though we still see some spotty showers, winds westerly 4-8 and diminishing, lows near 38, the snow level likely down to near 3500’.
Another trough reinforces the shower threat Thursday, look for more showers with the winds becoming southerly 5-10, highs near 54. The scattered showers continue until around midnight when they become more widely scattered under mostly cloudy skies, the low down near 38, look for some spotty frost, and the snow level down near 3000’.
By Friday, we see partly sunny skies, still a few showers possible, the high near 53, but then the real cold air starts pushing in as high pressure also starts building. Any remaining widely scattered showers end by midnight, which is good as the snow level that had dropped to around 2900’ continues to fall after midnight to around 1900’, the low drops to near 39. I would bring in any sensitive plants at this point because morning frost is becoming more likely.
Good news, Saturday looks sunny, the bad news though is we start out with a frosty morning, the afternoon high does climb to near 55. With mostly clear skies Saturday night though, that low drops to near 34, and back comes the frost.
A cold, frosty start Sunday, otherwise another sunny day with the high climbing to near 56, with that mostly clear night, the frost will return with the low down near 36.
Monday looks mostly sunny after the morning frost, and 57, lows that night near 37.
