With the strong ridge of high pressure combining with the breezy east winds overnight, the overnight low temperature only dropped briefly to around 63. The ridge is slowly drifting eastward but still gave us peaking afternoon high temperatures in the low to mid 80s in the Tillamook area.
We can expect mostly clear skies tonight, still the breezy east winds 8-12 gusting to 20 but diminishing late, the low tonight down to near 55.
The ridge shifts east tomorrow, but we still see the sunny skies, the winds also shift, becoming westerly 4-8 which helps to hold the high temperatures down to around 75, cooler towards the beaches. Tomorrow night the marine stratus moves in and thickens, the winds diminish, and patchy fog develops late and this brings some mist and patchy drizzle to the area, the low falls to near 50.
The clouds and fog are slow to burn back Sunday, leaving partly sunny skies, the winds becoming southwesterly 5-10, highs only around 68, more clouds move in Sunday night ahead of an approaching front, so, we could see some patchy drizzle before midnight then we have an increasing chance of rain moving in after midnight with rain likely by Columbus Day (Monday) when we also see some breezy southerly winds 15-20 gusting to 25 with gusts to 35-40 possible at the beaches, highs near 62, lows near 51.
Tuesday also looks cloudy, rainy, and breezy, highs near 60, lows near 50, then we see more rain during the day Wednesday, transitioning to showers Wednesday night with a decreasing chance of showers still on Thursday as things warm some, the high near 66.
