We had a quiet, but cool start to the day with the low this morning down around 37. Tonight though, the low pressure area west of northern California will rotate some light rain up into our area, so we see some increasing clouds and moisture with a chance of some light rain this evening and tonight, light winds, lows with all the cloud cover near 42. The rain chance dwindles tomorrow morning, then the skies clear up leaving us with a sunny afternoon, the winds becoming northerly 4-8, highs near 55. With mostly clear skies tomorrow night allowing for radiational cooling, and the light, dry east winds, the low dips to near 36.
Thursday and Friday we see a blocking ridge of high pressure to our west while the cutoff low pressure area continues to spin west of California, leading to sunny skies both days here, highs warming to near 59 by Friday. We also see those dry, easterly winds Thursday night, the low near 39 but by Friday night we see increasing clouds with the winds starting to become more southeasterly as a trough of low pressure drops in from the northwest and brings an increasing chance of rain in the early morning hours Saturday with more southwesterly winds, the overnight low near 42.
Saturday and Sunday look cloudy and rainy with highs near 55, lows near 41. The chance of rain starts easing Monday, then the longer range models are showing some mixed signals but it looks like we could see periods of rain, off and on again, for much of next week.
