Well, yesterday was fun in the morning then ended up being nice in the afternoon but then the temperatures took a dive after the sun went down with the clear skies and this morning we bottomed out at 27. The ridge of high pressure that cleared things out yesterday moved across the top of us today and we enjoyed fair and dry skies.
We will see some clouds move in tonight though as a trough of low pressure approaches bringing southerly winds 5-10, the low warming a little, only down to near 33 tonight so we may see some frost again.
The ridge shifts east tomorrow as a weak front approaches the coast, but then stalls offshore, giving us a slight chance of rain. With the cold start the snow level will begin down around 1000’ but with daytime heating and the southerly winds 5-10, and the high climbing up near 50, the snow level lifts to near 2300’. Tomorrow night we keep that slight chance of rain with east winds 8-12, the low around 34.
The front will have split while still offshore Friday so we see partly sunny skies, the slight rain chance diminishes Friday morning, winds becoming northwesterly 4-8, highs near 51, the partly cloudy skies Friday night allows the temperatures to dip back down to around 32.
We see another system dropping down in the northwesterly flow Saturday that gives us mostly cloudy skies then a slight rain chance in the evening, the high Saturday near 49. The good news is the snow level will have lifted to above 3000’ by that afternoon. We see cloudy skies Saturday night with an increasing chance of rain, the low near 38. Still a chance of rain on Sunday, highs near 50, lows near 41.
Unfortunately Monday looks rainy for President’s Day/Washington’s Birthday, the high near 50, still a chance of rain that night, lows near 40.
It looks like a stronger, wetter system will push in rain and winds Tuesday, the high near 49. It also likely pushes the snow level back down around 2000’.
