Well, it warmed up pretty good with the high pressure ridge building over the area combining with the abundant sunshine and offshore flow – temperatures well-above 80 in many parts of the Tillamook County. Thanks to an approaching trough of low pressure that starts to push the ridge eastward, the flow reverses this evening, and a weak onshore flow returns which pushes in the marine influence that helps to cool things back down. So, we see increasing clouds tonight, light southwesterly winds, lows near 48.
The clouds will slowly burn off tomorrow morning leaving another mostly sunny afternoon, winds becoming southwesterly 5-10, the high tomorrow only near 67. Tomorrow night we see the clouds getting pushed in by the approaching trough, the winds still southwesterly 5-10, lows near 45.
Sunday, we see clouds associated with the trough and a low pressure area off to the west. All this does give us a slight chance of showers in the morning hours, the winds southerly 5-10 gusting to 20, highs near 58, mostly cloudy Sunday night, winds southerly 4-8, lows near 44.
Monday on it looks like the low pressure area will slowly move southward towards northern California but does rotate some weak disturbances down across our area, giving us a slight chance of light showers off and on. So, partly sunny Monday with a slight chance of showers, the high near 59, the same again Tuesday with the high up near 62. We dry out Tuesday night then we have a slight chance of seeing a shower or two wrap around the low and ride the flow up over our area giving us a slight chance of a shower pushing west over the Coast Range Wednesday and Thursday.
Some of the models suggest we could see a blocking high pressure ridge setting up over the Pacific towards the end of next week which would signal dry and mild conditions for next weekend.
Maybe Spring is here after all!
