A trough of low pressure pushed in and deepened the marine clouds overnight and though they burned back, it still led to cooler temperatures today. Tonight, we can expect partly cloudy skies with the winds becoming light and variable, tonight’s low temperature near 44.
Tomorrow, we see a trough riding in on the flow which pushes it into the southern Oregon coast so, we start out partly sunny tomorrow morning then slowly become sunny in the afternoon with the winds becoming northwesterly 8-12 gusting to 25, the high warms a little, up to near 63 tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow night we will see mostly clear skies, the winds again becoming light and variable, low temperatures, with fewer clouds, near 42.
On Friday the upper level flow becomes more southwesterly and we see a surface ridge just offshore which brings us sunny skies with winds becoming northwesterly 5-10, the high up to near 64. Friday night we have mostly clear skies, the low near 45.
As for the weekend, we see the trough of low pressure off to the west in the eastern Pacific while the ridge of high pressure to the east builds northwestward into Canada. What all this means for our area is, we continue to see sunny skies Saturday with sunny and breezy conditions Sunday. Afternoon high temperatures make it up to around 66 both days, with the low temperature under mostly clear skies, falling to around 46.
It looks like next week the high pressure ridge to the east builds and shifts westward, closer to the area, and this would give us continued sunny skies, still breezy on Monday, the high near 71, then up to near 72 in Tuesday, with the high temperatures over towards Portland warming into the low to mid 80s Monday, then getting closer to around 90 by Tuesday. I should say that while the models all show the warmup for next week, they have been variable on just how warm it will actually be so we could see further adjustments through Friday’s forecast.
