Well, we have an upper level low pressure area down to the south over northern California while a large high pressure ridge remains over the central U.S. The net result is the high winds over our area yesterday with sustained winds in the 30s with gusts to 43 at Tillamook Airport. Overall, the pattern did not change much so we had another day of gusty winds but with warmer temperatures. Tonight, we again see clear skies, the northwesterly winds slowly die down, and the low down near 46.
Tomorrow looks to be the warmest day, still with the sunny skies, the winds not as strong, becoming northwesterly 5-10, that high climbs to near 75. Mostly clear skies tomorrow night, winds northerly 4-8, lows near 49.
Wednesday the ridge to the east weakens, as does the low to the south, so things return to more seasonable and we see mostly sunny skies, winds becoming southwesterly 5-10, the high back down near 68, mostly cloudy skies return Wednesday night, lows near 49.
Thursday on, the models show a mix of solutions. So, we suggest Friday and Saturday partly sunny to mostly cloudy daytime skies with highs near 65, and mostly cloudy nights, lows near 50.
Now, for the weekend, the models show one or more low pressure areas to the south and southwest that will give us partly sunny skies with a slight chance of showers creeping up into our area, highs near 65, lows near 50. My usual disclaimer, subject to change next forecast.
