The weather pattern setup remains similar to the past few days, high pressure is off to the west with a larger ridge off to the east while an upper level low pressure is to the north over British Columbia and another one is to the south over coastal southern California. This has put us under the stronger northwesterly flow, giving us the strong winds the past few days.
So, yesterday was another breezy day with max gusts to 33 at the airport. Today the upper level low pressure area to the north, over British Columbia, drifted northward some which allowed the pressure here to rise, which in turn allowed the temperatures to rise, and though the winds were gusty again today, they were not as strong as in the past few days. Having said all that, today is the warmest day of the series with temperatures in the mid-70’s to 80’s. Tonight, we see mostly clear skies with calm winds, the low around 49.
Tomorrow the low to the north continues to move north, then east as an upper level trough of low pressure starts to move towards the area, bring us a few clouds, the winds a more normal westerly 5-10, the high down to near 68. Tomorrow night the marine clouds return, and the winds become light from the south, lows again near 49.
By Thursday, the upper level low over California weakens and is getting pushed off to the east by the stronger upper level trough that continues to inch towards the coast. This brings partly sunny skies to the area with those southerly winds 4-8, the high only near 65. Back comes the stratus Thursday night, light winds, lows near 49.
With less clearing Friday, we see mostly cloudy skies, the high near 65, more marine clouds Friday night, lows back down to 49.
The trough moves over the area Saturday bringing partly sunny skies, the high near 65 again, then the winds increase again Saturday night under mostly cloudy skies, lows near 48.
By Sunday we return to mostly sunny skies, the high near 66, the same again Monday, the high near 67.
