Weather
The stratus deck pulled away from the coast around sunrise this morning, which was an indicator that the high pressure ridge is indeed building in over the area, and will continue to give us lots of sun and warmer temperatures that peak on Saturday, especially over in the valley where will not have any marine influence to mitigate the heat. As is frequently the case under conditions like this, where the valley is hot and we are cooler on the coast, we see some breezy afternoon conditions.
So, today was a sunny day with highs in the 70s and now we can expect a mostly clear night with the winds becoming light and variable this evening, the low down near 53.
Tomorrow will be another sunny day, the winds becoming westerly 8-12 gusting to 18, highs near 73, mostly clear skies again tomorrow night, winds easing and becoming more northerly, lows near 55.
Saturday the ridge strength peaks, and so do the temperatures, the winds becoming northwesterly 8-12 gusting to 20, the high climbing to near 75. We could see a few clouds returning Saturday night as the marine influence increases, the winds northwesterly 5-10 overnight, lows near 55.
It looks like the ridge will weaken some and drift eastward Sunday which will start to cool things down, so with mostly sunny skies still, the high Sunday is 71, then back comes the marine clouds Sunday night, lows near 56.
Monday the cooldown continues as a trough of low pressure drops down then moves across the area giving us partly sunny skies along with a slight chance of some light rain that morning, the afternoon high only around 67, then partly cloudy skies that night, lows near 53.
By Tuesday the models are somewhat mixed about another ridge of high pressure building back in. The questions being, if, and how strong. For now, we go with mostly sunny skies for Tuesday and Wednesday, the highs only slightly warmer, and back to mostly clear nights, lows near 52.
