The area saw some showers this morning, and I had some folks reporting a lot of lightning as a disturbance, that was once the low pressure area off the California Coast, pushed off to the north overnight. The rainfall was spotty and was generally less than 0.10”. The flow on the back side of this disturbance has also pushed the smoke to the west, over the state, west of the Cascades. This has impacted the Air Quality in the valley with some sensors reporting an Unhealthy Air Quality.
Tonight, we see partly cloudy, hazy skies with calm winds, the low near 53.
Next, we will watch another low pressure area, currently rotating west of Oregon, that will meander around that area all weekend. This leaves us with a mostly sunny weekend with afternoon winds westerly 5-10, and highs near 71. We see partly cloudy nights, lows near 53.
The low pressure area starts to drift towards the coast by early Monday morning and this will start giving us a slight chance of showers by later Sunday night, with an even better chance by Monday night. We see partly sunny skies during the day Monday, the high near 69, but more clouds with that chance of showers Monday night, the low near 53.
Tuesday the low continues to drift closer to the coast, towards Washington, so we continue with the chance of showers Tuesday, then the low shoots across Washington Wednesday so we will see more showers, maybe even some more thunderstorms, then the activity starts to become more widely scattered Wednesday night through Thursday with the low continuing to move off to the east then northeast into Canada, highs around 68, lows near 52.
