Well, the first good rain in a while gave us a little over ¼” at the airport. There were areas in the valley that got just over 2/3”. The activity diminished this morning, though we saw some fog and mist, as the low pressure area responsible for the showers dropped south of the area on its way to northern California. This brings mostly clear skies tonight with calm winds, the low near 57.
The low pressure area becomes stationary over northern California tomorrow, and we do see some clouds wrapping around the low and moving into our area with some upper level easterly winds. This could give us a light shower or two tomorrow. Winds becoming southwesterly at the surface 5-10 tomorrow afternoon, then diminishing tomorrow night, becoming light and variable, highs near 74, lows near 57.
Another system drops in from the northwest on Sunday and we again see some showers by the afternoon with southwesterly winds 5-10, highs near 64, showers likely Sunday night, light winds, lows near 53.
As for the start of next week, Labor Day looks partly sunny with just under a 50/50 chance of showers that diminish in the afternoon and evening leaving a partly cloudy and dry night Monday, highs near 66, lows near 49.
And the rest of next week, well, it looks okay, mostly sunny skies Tuesday through Thursday, maybe a slight chance of showers during the day Wednesday, otherwise, highs near 68, lows near 50.
