A weak and dying cold front just gave us some clouds, fog, and mist as it pushed through this morning, leaving a mostly cloudy, but dry afternoon. There were some areas up in Clatsop County that saw measurable precipitation though. Tonight, we will see some more clouds, the westerly winds die off, lows near 50.
We have another front moving towards the coast tomorrow that will again give us some clouds, morning fog, and drizzle, then back to a mostly cloudy afternoon, winds becoming southerly 4-8, the high near 68. Look for cloudy skies tomorrow night, a chance of patchy drizzle after around midnight, calm winds, lows near 54.
Some clouds linger into Wednesday morning but with high pressure building in, things start to improve in the afternoon, winds northerly 5-10, the high near 71, then mostly clear skies Wednesday night, calm winds, some patchy fog possible in the early morning hours, lows near 51.
The ridge of high pressure dominates the pattern the rest of the week, giving us sunny skies, the high 74 on Thursday then peaks on Friday at 79. Lows, under mostly clear skies, down around 53.
The weekend looks mostly sunny to sunny, the high around 72, with partly cloudy nights, the lows around 52.
Finally, I added this to my Facebook Page (Gordon’s Weather Center) and decided to share it here too…
Today is Patriot Day, and National Day of Service and Remembrance, let us pay tribute to the 3000+ heroes and victims who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Now is a good time to recommit ourselves to the spirit of unity – patriotism – and service that carried our Nation through in the days that followed.
On that day I was putting on my Gretna Louisiana Police uniform to go to work. I had the TV on and stopped…and just stood there watching the screen in disbelief. Being retired Navy, and a Vietnam and Desert Storm veteran, I knew that this meant war, but I did not know with whom at that time.
