We saw the ridge of high pressure dominate the pattern again today, bringing temperatures on the warmer side, especially over in the valley where they saw temperatures in the low 90s today, and tonight they will only see lows up close to 60. Fortunately for the coast there is that marine influence that helped to keep us cooler with highs today in the mid 70s. We do see the marine clouds moving in tonight, the winds dying off so patchy fog is possible, and the low drops to near 48.
Tomorrow the ridge is shifting eastward but we manage another mostly sunny day with the winds becoming northerly 5-10, but increasing to 8-12 gusting to 20 later in the afternoon, highs near 70. Tomorrow night we see more clouds returning, the winds easing, lows near 47.
Sunday, we have a trough of low pressure dropping down from the northwest, so we have a partly sunny day with northwesterly winds 5-10, the high down to near 69. With mostly cloudy skies Sunday night we have a slight chance of showers starting around midnight, the lows near 52.
As for next week, the models are still somewhat mixed, but it looks like Monday will be partly sunny and dry with the highs near 67, then partly cloudy and breezy that night, lows near 47. Tuesday, we likely have a mostly sunny day with the high near 66 but it appears we have another system dropping in giving us a chance of showers Tuesday night that become more widely scattered Wednesday before diminishing all together Wednesday night, highs near 67, lows near 47.
Summer returns Thursday with sunny skies expected, the high climbing back up to near 73.
