With the mostly clear skies and light winds, the temperature dropped to freezing this morning giving us some patchy freezing fog. A look at the weather charts reveals we have what is called an Omega Block, or a high pressure ridge setting up. This means we can expect fair and mild days and nights, for the rest of the week, including the weekend, as this pattern blocks weather systems, keeping them away from our area. So, after a nice sunny day we can expect another mostly clear night and with the ridge building stronger, some northeasterly winds 4-8, the low down near 44.
We will see sunny skies again tomorrow with east winds 8-12, the high up near 69, again some mostly clear skies overnight, the east winds 8-12 still, lows only drop to near 49.
Saturday is another sunny day with the high up near 69 again, then Sunday the ridge starts to move eastward and weaken some. We will still continue with the sunny days and mostly clear nights through Monday with highs near 68, and overnight lows near 45.
By Tuesday, the ridge is weaker and shifting east as a trough of low pressure pushes down from the northwest. This brings back some clouds Tuesday with the high near 62, the lows still near 45, along with a slight chance of rain late.
Wednesday is looking partly sunny with a better chance of rain, the high only near 57.
In the area of holidays, did you know that today is Pi Day? As most of us math freaks know, Pi is used in math to represent the ratio of a circumference of a circle to its diameter, which is 3.14159……, or rounded off, 3.14, which is celebrated on 3/14 each year. It is also National Potato Chip Day, yahoo!
