Well darn, it looks like the pattern shift is underway. The high pressure ridge that gave us all the nice weather this last week is shifting eastward, as a trough of low pressure pushes toward the area from the Pacific. This change will bring us more clouds and a chance for some light showers later this afternoon as a disturbance rides the flow and moves across. Winds tonight becoming southeasterly 4-8, the overnight low near 46.
Tomorrow, we see an upper level low pressure area developing west of British Columbia. While the low does drift southwestward, away from the coast, it also intensifies and enhances the moist southwesterly flow over our area which keeps the threat of showers in the forecast for tomorrow. So, cloudy with showers still tomorrow, winds becoming southwesterly 5-10, the high near 57. We see more showers tomorrow night, but with an approaching front by this time, the shower activity transitions to rain after midnight, the winds ease, becoming light and variable, the lows near 46.
Friday, we see more rain as the front approaches then moves through, southerly winds by the afternoon with a high near 57. Then, it looks like another low pressure area is developing off the coast of California at the base of the trough and will rotate northeastward in the flow bringing us showers Friday night with the winds southerly at 8-12, and the low near 43.
It appears the low pressure area will be drifting northward off the Oregon coast over the weekend bringing more clouds and showers across the region along with cooler temperatures with highs now in the low 50s, and lows in the low 40s.
It also looks like another front will bring in more rain after midnight Sunday through Monday along with some breezy winds, the highs near 52, lows near 42.
