A look at the radar and satellite pictures this morning shows the shower activity staying mainly offshore and moving southward leaving our area cool but dry. Tripcheck.com was showing 24” of snow still roadside at the summit where the temperature was at 30 degrees, with spots of ice. So, after a sunny day today with highs in the upper 40s, look for partly cloudy skies with the east winds still tonight, and with the radiational cooling, the low drops to around 27.
Wednesday and Thursday look nice, a frosty start both mornings otherwise mostly sunny skies with a high pressure ridge building in, the highs up near 48, some clouds develop each night with light winds, lows down to 31 Wednesday but only down to 34 Thursday.
Friday, we start to see some clouds and southerly winds ahead of the next approaching system. We have an increasing chance of rain starting that evening, the high climbing to near 54, the rain likely by Friday night, the low only down to near 40.
Saturday looks cloudy, rainy, and breezy with the winds gusting to near 25, highs near 50, lows near 42 so the snow level remains well above the passes, then Sunday is also cloudy and rainy, but windy, with gusts to near 35, highs Sunday near 51, lows near 42 still.
The longer range models show more rain for Monday and Tuesday, highs still in the low 50s, lows in the low 40s.
Don’t worry, spring is scheduled in another 2 weeks, hopefully Mother Nature will cooperate.
