A thickened marine layer brought a little light rain, drizzle, and mist yesterday but conditions will improve today as high pressure returns bringing back the fair, dry, and mild conditions today and tomorrow. So, this means you see gradual clearing today with the afternoon high temperatures in the mid 60s, with breezy afternoon winds. The winds will diminish tonight and with the mostly clear skies, some patchy morning fog is possible, the overnight low near 47.
The ridge drifts eastward across the area tomorrow so we see clearing skies after the patchy morning fog with the winds becoming northwesterly 5-10, the afternoon high temperature warming to near 69. The ridge continues to move to the east overnight, ahead of an approaching trough of low pressure pushing in from the west so we see increasing clouds tomorrow night, diminishing winds so the patchy fog is possible again in the early morning hours, the low near 50.
The trough continues to move towards the area Wednesday bringing more clouds and a chance of some showers, winds becoming southwesterly 4-8, high temperatures only up to around 61. Still some clouds Wednesday night along with a slightly better chance of showers as the trough may spin up a weak low pressure area near the coast, light southwesterly winds, some patchy fog is still possible, overnight low temperatures only down to near 51.
The system continues to push eastward Thursday, so the shower chance diminishes by the afternoon, the high near 62. Then another ridge of high pressure starts to move into the area bringing a partly cloudy night with calm winds and some patchy morning fog again, the low near 48.
Friday looks to be a nice, mostly sunny day with the afternoon high temperature near 67, the ridge of high pressure is moving across the area Friday night, the patchy morning fog still possible, lows near 51.
The models are suggesting a weak trough will be approaching the area again Saturday, so in come some more clouds during the day, then a chance of showers that night into Sunday, highs in the mid 60s, lows down ion the low 50s.
So, now that we are into the last week of June, it is time to take a peek at what July may hold. The Climate Prediction Center’s Outlook issued yesterday the 23rd for the first week in July (1st thru 7th) suggest the area could see Above Average Precipitation with Below Average Temperatures that week.
