We had one low pressure area move up the coast yesterday and last night that pushed bands of light rain through the area and now another low pressure area, that was off of Northern California yesterday, continues to drift northward like we expected today, bring scattered showers with breezy winds through tonight. The winds tonight are still southerly 14-18 gusting to 20, the low tonight near 46.
We can expect more showers tomorrow, still with the breezy southerly winds 10-15 gusting to 20, the high near 53, then the shower activity eases overnight as the low pressure area weakens and continues to push northward, diminishing around midnight, the winds becoming southeasterly 4-8, the low near 42.
By Thursday that low pressure area is moving to the northwest around a larger low pressure area in the Pacific, leaving us with fair weather with Thursday looking partly sunny, Friday looking mostly sunny, with sunny skies expected for Saturday. The high temperatures for this period are around 58, the lows around 42.
Friday the low pressure area in the Pacific is pushing towards the coast, and this system is cooler so we can expect a chance of rain moving back in overnight Saturday from the associated front with rain likely by Sunday, which transitions to showers behind the front Sunday night, and the showers persist into Monday. As I mentioned, high temperatures by Sunday are only around 50, and Sunday night the snow level could drop to near 1600’ with the overnight low expected to drop to near 37 degrees. The expected breezy winds Sunday and Monday will make it feel even colder than it actually is. The high Monday likely in the upper 40s.
I guess Mother Nature is just not ready to drop Winter quite yet!
