Good news, we started the day with mostly clear skies thanks to a high pressure ridge building in. The bad news, radiational cooling allowed the temperature to drop to 27 degrees just as the sun was coming up, leading to areas of frost. So, after a mostly sunny day today, we see another partly cloudy night tonight with light east winds, so the low will again drop to around 29 degrees and we likely see some frost once again in the early morning hours until after the sun comes up.
Tomorrow is another mostly sunny day after the frost is gone, winds becoming southwesterly 4-8, the high up near 50. Some clouds will move in tomorrow night, light east winds, and the low temperature slightly warmer, down to near 35, some overnight frost is again possible.
Friday, we start to see some clouds moving in ahead of the next rainmaker, so we partly sunny skies, the winds southerly 4-8, the high climbing to near 56. The chance of rain starts to creep in that evening with the rain likely by later Friday night, again, with the southerly winds the low only down to near 42.
The front pushes through later Saturday morning then we transition to scattered showers with another chance of thunderstorms, the winds becoming breezy from the south, the high near 50. Showers with possible thunderstorms Saturday night the winds increase again, lows near 42. By the way, the snow level up around 4000’ by that time.
So, it looks like another trough of low pressure sets up near or over the area by Sunday, so we see cloudy skies with more rain and breezy winds, highs near 51, lows near 42 though the first half of next week.
With all the recent snow, I took a quick look at where we stand for the snow/water equivalent for this month, and it is not looking too bad. There are a few zones in the 91 to 98% of normal, but all the other zones are over 100% of normal with the southeastern part of the state over 150% of normal.
