With weak high pressure over the area yielding some clear skies, Tillamook was on the chilly side this morning thanks to some radiational cooling, with the low at the airport this morning down to near 30, and yes, there was some freezing fog in the area so drive carefully and use your lights so you can be seen by others.
As for the forecast, it looks like a strong low pressure area developed west of California and will drift northward today. The good news is it will be weakening as it does so. It will give us some increasing cloudiness today with some easterly winds 8-12 gusting to 20, and the high will climb to near 58. The low will continue to move up the coast tonight and bring an increasing chance of rain after midnight while also bringing increasing winds, becoming northeasterly 10-15 gusting to 25, the low tonight near 43.
As for next week, you can look forward to more rain to start as the low, which is still weakening, continues to drift into the area. Then midweek on, it looks like a series of disturbances will keep us with a threat of rain and rain showers the rest of the week with cooler temperatures that push the snow level down to between 2000 to 2500′ with daytime highs around 50, and nighttime lows in the upper 30s.
