Taken it to the streets – the Tillamook Dairy Parade takes over downtown tomorrow Saturday June 22nd starting at 11 am – the theme this year is “Tractor Trails, and Tailgate Tales.”
This year’s Honorary Marshal is John Holland, Tillamook Area Chamber of Commerce’s Citizen of the Year, awarded in January for his role on the mobile crisis team in Tillamook County.
Tillamook High School Agricultural Science & Industrial Technology Instructor and FFA Advisor Hayden Bush is this year’s Grand Marshal, a third generation dairy farmer and FFA advisor at Tillmaook High School mentoring many students to state-winning titles and national recognition.
The Tillamook County Family YMCA hosts the Milk Run fun run before the parade. The 2 mile walk/run, 5k walk/run and 10k begin and end at the YMCA at 610 Stillwell Avenue. Races start at 8 am. To register, go to tillamookymca.org.
The Tillamook Farmers Market on the corner of Laurel Avenue and 2nd Street will provide plenty of snacks, locally-grown produce, gifts, baked goods, live music and activities for kids. The market is open from 9 am to 2 pm.
Then wrap up the day at the Tillamook Rodeo at the Fairgrounds – there’s something for everyone throughout the day celebrating Tillamook’s dairy heritage.
As you set up to watch the parade, please remember not to block 3rd St. & Ocean or 5th & Main Ave. – these are dedicated emergency routes for our first responders and emergency services.
