The literary journal, featuring some of the region’s most talented writers and artists, goes on sale Nov. 1
The Hoffman Center will celebrate the launch of the 9th edition of the North Coast Squid journal of writing and art with two events in early November:
- Contributing writers will read from their work during a program at the Hoffman Center Friday, Nov. 3, 7-9pm. Members of the community are invited to attend through a video livestream. The Zoom link for this event is available on the Hoffman Center’s “Events” webpage.
- Contributing artists will be featured at the Squid Art Show opening reception at the Hoffman Gallery, Saturday, Nov. 4, 2-4pm, 594 Laneda Ave, Manzanita. The 28 original pieces published in the Squid will be on display for sale at the Hoffman Gallery in November, Fri-Sun, 12-4pm.

This newest edition of the Squid literary magazine is 72 pages, showcasing the work of 39 writers and 28 artists who live on the North Oregon Coast or have a strong connection to the region. Writing selections were curated by noted Oregon authors: Anis Mojgani for poetry; Natalie Serber for memoir/nonfiction; and Callum Angus for fiction.
