EDITOR’s NOTE: So we’ve gotten a little behind with posting all the community holiday light parades. Our intrepid and busy photographer/videographer made the rounds to most of the now traditional community light parades. We posted Tillamook and Rockaway Beach last week.
Now here are Garibaldi, Bay City and Nestucca Valley. Links to the videos on the Pioneer’s YouTube channel are below.

GARIBALDI LIGHT PARADE (12/17/24)
Garibaldi Fire & Rescue ventured out into the storm on Tuesday night, December 17th, despite the increasing winds. According to Fire Chief Jay Marugg, “We go out in the rain or wind, it doesn’t matter the weather.” The department decorated their vehicles, and at 6 PM they started their route all around Garibaldi.
The route used in years past was expanded to a loop down South Seventh Street and back on Mooring Drive by the mooring basin. “We added the piece down by the docks this year,” Deputy Chief Blake Paulsen said.
The Christmas Lights Parade is an annual favorite. “We had people dancing on their porches,” Paulsen explained. New this year was playing Christmas music through their Public address system.
