As the warmer weather increases the temperatures in the northwest corner of the state, fire managers will be increasing the fire danger level to High (yellow) for recreationists using the forests in the NW-1, NW-2 and NW-3 weather zones. This change will be effective at 1:00 a.m. on Friday, August 4th, 2023.
All off highway vehicle trails in the Tillamook State Forest OHV Riding Area will close at 1:00 pm daily during High (yellow) Fire Danger level. Riding on designated trails is allowed before 1pm or after 8pm. Riding on improved surfaces such as graveled logging roads is allowed all day.
In NW-1, NW-2, and NW-3 under the fire danger level High (yellow): Campfires are only allowed in metal fire pits at numbered designated sites, State and County parks, and at private residences with a written waiver from ODF.
All open burning and burn barrels are prohibited in NW-1, NW-2, and NW-3 under High (yellow). The county wide burn ban has been in effect since July 15th.
Fireworks, exploding targets/tracer ammunition, sky lanterns are prohibited at all levels during fire season.
