Hundreds Greeted New Year with Polar Plunge – Manzanita & Cape Lookout Events 1/1/24

Ten days into the new year and we are anticipating the arrival of the “polar vortex” – artic air that will bring frigid temperatures and the possibility of snow down to sea level … On January 1st – hundreds of Tillamookians (and visitors) greeted the new year with a “polar plunge” into the mighty Pacific Ocean.
The Tillamook County Family YMCA and Oregon State Parks sponsor a polar plunge at Cape Lookout State Park, and in Manzanita a “grassroots” – the original Tillamook County Polar Plunge has been taking place for over twenty years.
