The Nehalem Bay United Methodist Church is pleased to announce that the church’s Outreach Programs (the Food Pantry and Clothing Bank, the CHILD program, Nehalem Senior Lunches, and Munch-a-Lunch) are now organized under a 501(c)3 as a tax-exempt charitable organization called Nehalem Bay Community Services (NBCS).
Being a not-for-profit will allow us greater freedom to grow as we address the changing needs of our community. In addition, we will be able to apply for grants with the goal of helping those in need achieve their full potential.
We thank the community for their on-going and generous support. Your donations help us continue to serve others in our community. If you would care to partner with us in this work, please send donations to: Nehalem Bay Community Services (NBCS), PO Box 232, Nehalem, OR 97131.
We will still be located at Nehalem Bay United Methodist Church and will continue to support our on-site partner, Animal Haven by the Sea.
NBCS is an equal opportunity provider.
Here’s an overview of the programs:
CHILD – Christ’s Hands In Loving Devotion
The CHILD program was founded in the fall of 2017 to help families with children living in North Tillamook County at back to school and Christmas time. CHILD makes every attempt to provide a new outfit, shoes, jacket, and needed school supplies for students who might otherwise do without at the beginning of each school years. CHILD also provides gifts for children from their wish list at Christmas time. This program assists families who are struggling to provide the necessities, let alone the extras that come with back to school and holidays. Parents register with CHILD and keep the information up to date to participate in the program. Applications are due in July for back to school, and November 1st for participation in the Christmas portion of the program. During the holidays, LOOK FOR TAGS with children’s wishes in local businesses or in the front window of the church. Everything the children registered with CHILD receives is donated by individuals and organizations from our local community. Dpnations are tax-deductible.
