The 36th Annual Garibaldi Crab Races are this weekend every second full weekend in March, you can join the Garibaldi Lions Club for two days of crab racing! The 2023 dates are March 11 from 11-5 PM and March 12 from 11-4 PM at the Old Mill Convention Center.
The Garibaldi Crab Races presented by the Garibaldi Lions Club is a town tradition that is NOT to be missed! The Garibaldi Crab Races, “where else can you otherwise witness “normal” human beings bang their hands on inclined wooden race lanes and use psychic powers to urge their sideways-crawling Dungeness crabs to cross first over the finish line?”
People from all over the Pacific NW come to Garibaldi, Oregon to take part in this fundraising event, eat fresh Dungeness crab and other delicious local foods, and have a family-fun experience!
Proceeds support the Garibaldi Lions mission of sight and hearing and other charitable endeavors.
Entry fee is $5 for adults, $2 for kids 6-12, kids five and under are free. The cost for racing ranges from $1.00 to $10.00, depending on the prize and type of race.
There will be both adult and kid races each day. Registration takes place each day on-site. Races begin at Noon!
Cash, check and card will be accepted at the door. There is no ATM on site so bring cash for the food, drink, races and raffles!
