Logan Laity withdraws his candidacy from the state legislative race to represent the North Coast due to a work relocation. The Democratic Party of Oregon will host a convention in the district to nominate a new candidate (see below for more information.) Laity pledges $10,000 to the nominee, elected by Precinct Committeepersons (PCPs) in Oregon House District 32.
“Families are being priced out and small businesses are struggling. The North Coast deserves better than our current representative who has one of the worst attendance records in the state legislature. When he does show up, he’s focused on divisive politics, such as rolling back reproductive rights and environmental protections. We can and must do better for the North Coast to bring down the high cost of living and provide access to health care,” said Laity.
The Democratic Party of Oregon will host a convention where elected and appointed Democratic Precinct Committeepersons of Clatsop, Tillamook, and a portion of Columbia County will nominate a new Democratic candidate. This nominee will appear on the General Election ballot this Fall. Laity and other local Democratic organizers have created a Political Action Committee to support the to-be-selected nominee.
Here is more information about the upcoming convention to select Laity’s replacement:
