“It’s not just the books under fire now that worry me. It’s the books that will never be written. The books that will never be read. And all due to the fear of censorship. As always, young readers will be the losers.” (Judy Blume)
The open minds, freedom, discussions, experiences sharing life experiences, these children that are in our schools will continue to see banned books. Once schools have banned one, they will continue. Why? Censorship.
Five lessons from To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee
1. Stand up for what is right
2. Be kind and compassionate to others
3.Dont judge others too quickly
4. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect
5. The world is not always fair
To Kill a Mockingbird is a banned book (one of the top 10 most banned books.) I remember my teachers always reading to me in school. It’s some of the best memories I have from school.
I ask the school board to reverse their decision in banning the Garcia Girls.
