After a three-year pandemic hiatus, the Manzanita 4th of July parade did indeed “Return to Glory”. Every parade is a good time, but the small town’s just really do it right. Spectators were handing out goodies to parade participants — there was just a special atmosphere throughout the parade. Here’s what Pioneer photographer Don Backman shared:
Manzanita Fourth of July Parade – This is the first time I’ve seen it in a long, long time. It’s a good one. The route was packed and it sounded like everyone was having a great time. One reason small towns are fun is you almost always hear someone calling out a participant’s name as they go by. In keeping with the general theme of kids – The Fourth – and Parade, I took just over 400 shots. Now, normally at an event like this, I’ll use a medium-speed burst mode as the subject is normally moving.
Here are a few dozen – and the video of the live recording of the parade.
