The Manzanita Farmers Market did a test run on May 9th for the pre-order, drive through farmers market. The market “opens” for the season this week with as pre-order/pickup on Friday, June 12th, and will be available every week through September. Many seasonal markets around the state are utilizing an online ordering system and scheduling drive-through pickups to adhere to the physical distancing and gathering size limits of the state’s COVID-19 guidelines. “It’s important to continue to provide the venue for the small farmers and producers to give access for the local community, and to keep everyone in the community safe,” said Manzanita Farmers Market manager Emily Volmer. “The May market worked well and we received positive feedback and the board decided to continue with that method to get fresh, local products to our community in the safest way.”
Manzanita Farmers Market shoppers place their orders online at www.manzanitafarmersmarket.com any time from Sunday through Wednesday, for pickup on Friday from 4 to 7 pm. Markets favorites are back including local meat, fresh berries, smoked salmon, baked goods, plant starts, fresh veggies and more!
