Neah-Kah-Nie High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) participated in the State Business Leadership Conference this past weekend. The students competed against all other FBLA Chapters in the State of Oregon. Of the five participants, Neah-Kah-Nie had one member finish in the top of the pack and earn their way to the National Conference. Bryar Konruff, who competed in the Word Processing category, placed 3rd in State and qualified to attend the National Conference in Orlando, Florida this year. Congratulations to all of the members and especially to Bryar for her hard work in her event. Great Job!! GO PIRATES!!
The Neah-Kah-Nie High School Concert Choir worked hard to earn a superior rating from Dr. Steven Zielke of Oregon State University after its OSAA Special District High School Choir Festival performance on Tuesday April 9th. The choir’s songs included a premiere composition written by Mr. Simpson featuring soloist Misty Dominguez-Pozos who was praised by the festival’s judges. We are so proud of her and all of our student singers who have succeeded through much, much adversity this year. Keep up the good work!
On Wednesday, April 10th, the high school band competed in the 3A Special District League band festival. They took 2nd place just behind Warrenton and qualified for the state tape pool. They will submit a recording of their performance to the state and wait for the state officials to determine if they will compete in the state finals.
This is an especially wonderful achievement for this band. A majority of the band is freshmen and they have been a valuable addition to our band this year. Our experienced upperclassmen led the way and put in some spectacular performances. In Gen Z terms “they left no crumbs.”
Please congratulate band members on this achievement.
